Record-Breaking Size

This Semal tree (Bombax ceiba), discovered in 2015 by a patrolling team led by forest officials Trilok Singh Bisht, Hem Pandey, and Dharm Prakash Maulkhi, boasts an incredible girth of 94 feet when measured along its heavily buttressed trunk at a height of approximately 4–5 feet (1.37 meters) from the ground. Located near the Bhadgoth Nala, east of the Pilapani area in the Jaulasal Range, it sits at coordinates 29°03’47.1” N and 79°52’56.0” E, at an elevation of 239 meters above sea level.
