Safari At Haldwani Forest Division

Haldwani Forest Division, along with Champawat and Terai East, forms a crucial 1,200 km² tiger habitat in eastern Uttarakhand. Covering 600 km², it is bordered by the Gola and Sharada Rivers and connects to Nepal via the Boom-Brahmadev corridor. The region features hilly terrain, seasonal streams, and the Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary (270 km²), a key tiger habitat. Camera trapping identified 36 tigers with a density of 4.68 per 100 km². As a vital link between Shivalik plains and high-altitude tiger populations, conservation efforts are essential to mitigate threats from urban expansion and infrastructure projects.
